About Empowered

Advancing with confidence

Empowered Systems was founded in 2001 as the first company to create an enterprise-grade, no-code application development platform bringing the power of enterprise-grade GRC and ESG application creation to organisations worldwide.

We empower innovators with the ability to build enterprise class, sustainable applications without writing a single line of code.

Our journey began in 1995, as Paisley, the first software company to bring the power of software automation to the Internal Audit function. Heralded as a leading innovator in the space, Paisley was acquired by Thomson Reuters who expanded the solution coverage to a wide range of risk and compliance solutions quickly becoming a leading and trusted provider of Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) applications in the market.

Recognizing the limitation of traditionally developed applications created for firms trying to integrate their risk and compliance functions, Thomson Reuters acquired Empowered Systems to create the foundation of its next-generation GRC application products.

With over 2 decades of focused innovation, the technology is today one of the best performing, complete, and capable zero-code application development platforms on the market. We are continuing our history of trusted partnership with our customers.

Thomson Reuters Financial & Risk Division was renamed Refinitiv and acquired by London Stock Exchange Group.

As of December 1st, 2021, Empowered Systems divested and became its own entity with the most capable technology for enabling a robust ecosystem of agile, integrated, and smart GRC applications and solutions.
