Requesting a Variance

Empowered Systems Marketing recognizes the importance of maintaining a consistent brand image across all its products and services. To ensure brand coherence, all visual elements, including icon sets, must adhere to established brand standards. However, we understand that there may be situations where a new iconset is necessary to enhance user experience or align with specific project requirements. This document outlines the standards and procedures for requesting a variance to introduce a new iconset into Empowered Systems’ brand standards.

The purpose of this document is to provide a structured process for requesting a variance to add a new iconset to Empowered Systems’ brand standards. A variance is granted when it can be demonstrated that the introduction of a new iconset is essential and will not compromise the overall brand identity.

To request a variance for a new iconset, the following steps must be followed:

The request for a variance must be submitted in writing to the Empowered Systems Brand Standards Committee.

The request should include the following information:

i. Justification: A detailed explanation of why the new iconset is necessary and how it will benefit the brand or specific projects.

ii. Design Samples: Visual representations of the proposed iconset, including a minimum of ten icons.

iii. Impact Assessment: An assessment of how the introduction of the new iconset will impact existing brand standards and guidelines.

Review Process:

The Brand Standards Committee will review the variance request and assess its merits. The committee will consider factors such as design quality, alignment with Empowered Systems’ values, and potential impact on brand consistency.

The committee will communicate its decision to the requester within 30 days of receiving the request. The decision will fall into one of the following categories:

i. Approval: The variance request is approved, and the new iconset will be added to Empowered Systems’ brand standards.

ii. Modification Required: The committee may request modifications to the proposed iconset before approval.

iii. Rejection: The request is rejected if it does not align with brand standards or lacks sufficient justification.
